Combat fundamentals

Harden with intention

Harden is strongest inside a committed melee animation. Start a heavy swing, Harden before the enemy connects, and let the stored attack finish after the impact. This converts a normally risky windup into a controlled trade. It does not protect against every unblockable or multi-hit follow-up.

Use short punish strings

Choose a two- or three-hit sequence that always leaves stamina and recovery room. Long strings are for confirmed staggers, not for every opening. Against a new boss, learn the end of one sequence before adding damage.

Give Resolve a purpose

Decide whether a sidearm shot will interrupt, finish, create space or apply a condition. Spending meter because it is full often means it is empty during the mechanic that justified the tool.

Exploration priorities

Activate every Beacon before investigating adjacent branches. A return point turns experimentation into a small cost and creates a reliable route anchor. Map Fragments remove regional fog, but a revealed area can still hold dungeons, gates and pickups.

Take one objective per expedition: unlock a Shell, recover a weapon, finish a dungeon or collect a fragment. Bank that result before turning the same run into a boss attempt. This keeps a death from erasing several kinds of unfinished work.

Use sound, lighting, bells, statues and traversal geometry as landmark evidence. When two written guides disagree, confirm the in-game item label and keep the checklist entry open until the current build resolves it.

Upgrades without regret

Test the base moveset before spending. Upgrade the action you repeat safely, then improve survivability or resource flow, then add a specialist effect. Split investment only when the second build solves a real problem the first cannot.

Numeric tooltips can change after patches. Compare the live value, game build and target enemy. A build guide is useful for decisions and synergies; it should not freeze a percentage from an older version into permanent truth.

Healing and route endurance

Carry the healing option you understand and use it behind a confirmed recovery, after creating distance or while a summon holds attention. Healing in the center of an unknown string is not a plan. Gragu supports populated exploration routes through an enemy-fed loop; other Shells may give safer immediate defense.

For bosses, prepare resources before the fog wall. Do not expect an arena without adds to sustain a build designed around kills. If an attempt ends with unused items and full Resolve, practice deploying them at one preselected mechanic.

PC mods and safe testing

Mods are third-party changes, not official features. Back up saves, read the supported game version and removal steps, and change one tool at a time. A patch can invalidate an older mod even when the game still launches.

Camera or ultrawide tools can affect framing and HUD position without proving a performance improvement. Record a static before/after from the same location. Avoid cheat or console options if you want to preserve intended progression and achievement integrity.

Secrets and rumor control

A riddle, hidden dungeon or community nickname needs a reproducible route and a current source before it becomes a definitive page. Record the entrance, prerequisite, exact prompt and resulting reward. If one part is missing, label it as unverified instead of filling the gap with a plausible story.

This rule applies especially to search terms inherited from beta discussions. A popular query is evidence of player interest, not proof that the claimed object or route exists in the released build.
